For the McCandless project, I chose to not text my friends for a whole school day which was a challenge for me. My friends reacted how I thought they would. They were asking “Nick where are?” and “Why aren’t you talking?”. I usually talk to them so it must of been weird not hearing from me. During the experiment, I felt very tempted to text my friends back, but I fought off the temptation. I also wanted to give them a little heads up in advance of the experiment, but I didn’t. I am very proud of that. I was fairly surprised of their reactions because I kind of expected it, but I didn’t really know they would notice me that much. I was also surprised that I was able to not text them! I consider it a good accomplishment. I am free to not conform because I did a pretty good job, and this experiment told me a lot. It told me that when you put your mind to stuff, you can fight all off the temptation and live how you want.
